Graduates

Carl

Carl is from Belgrade Lakes, Maine and started flying with Klaus in 2002. Carl soloed in a C-150 on Thanksgiving Day 2002 on a 2200 ft runway in Waterville. Ever since, Carl has come back to Airlink for lessons and got his Instrument Rating in 2009. Congratulations!

Brian McFarland

Its never too late to change careers. Brian, in his 40s, once a professional photographer and entrepreneur decided to become a career pilot and started spreading his wings in 2002 by obtaining his private pilot’s license with Klaus. Brian obtained his instrument, commercial and flight instructor ratings, built up his hours, flying air charter in the Carribean, then getting hired by an Airline and eventually landing a job as Captain for Avantair flying the Piaggio 180 jetprop across North and South America, The Carribean and Canada.

Ben

Ben is from Newport, Maine and decided to go from flying “Co-Pilot” in a DeHavilland Beaver Floatplane (at the age 7) to becoming a career pilot and Flight Instructor with Airlink. Ben became a Private Pilot and attained his Instrument Rating in 2009 and currently is working on his Commercial Pilot’s License.

Mert

Mert is from Benton, Maine and one day showed up in his wood haul- tractor- trailor at Airlink’s flight school in Waterville. Mert’s dedication and discipline helped him complete our accelerated private pilot training course in 40 hours and 2 and half months.

Evan

Evan is from Vinalhaven, Maine and started flying with Airlink while attending Thomas College in Waterville. Before we knew, Evan started taking lessons, got hooked, soloed in the C-172 and became Private Pilot in May 2009. Evan’s dream is to fly to and from work (or college) out of a small dirt runway in Vinalhaven (a beautiful island off the Maine Coast) in his own airplane.

Paul “Grasstrip” Harriman

Working in the back of an aerial tanking, refueling F-16 fighter jets just doesn’t cut it for Paul. He wanted to move up into the cockpit of a KC-135 (military version of a Boeing 707). So he decided to complete Airlink LLC’s accelerated flight training course and completed his license in a little over 2 months!

Jeff Buckley

Jeff is from Casco, Maine a long commute to Waterville. He is one of our most dedicated students yet. He came to us with a goal to become a Commercial Pilot, going through great lengths to get himself started. Today that view hasn't changed. He received his Private in March of this year (2010) and his Instrument in April. Currently he is well on his way of receiving his Commercial Pilot's License. Awesome job!
